More about 1Password for iPad, iPhone, and syncing

We’re getting a few questions about the differences between 1Password for iPad and iPhone, so I wanted to clarify some of them in one convenient place:

• 1Password (standard) for iPhone and iPod touch will not get the iPad interface. It’s $6.99.
• 1Password for iPad is a version just for iPad owners who never plan on owning an iPhone or iPod touch, so it won’t run on the latter two devices. It is also $6.99 and available in the App Store now!
• 1Password Pro 3.0 is a universal or “hybrid” app for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch, and will be a free upgrade to owners of the current version. It sells for $14.99, and it is awaiting Apple’s approval now available!

One last thing: if you use 1Password for Mac and plan to sync with 1Password for iPad, you need to update to 1Password for Mac v3.1 before attempting to sync with your iPad. Open 1Password and go to the 1Password menu, then choose “Check for Updates.” Follow the automatic update dialog, restart 1Password once the new versions gets installed, and you should be all set.
